The great storyteller in the world

Ali Siddiq's new campaign.

Hi,

While this newsletter mostly covers music & entertainment ideas, I’m also fascinated by the general creator landscape. In my mind, almost every entertainer has become a creator.

I recently came across comedian Ali Siddiq’s new campaign and thought it was an awesome case study of utilizing AI, digital marketing, and out of home.

Let’s explore below.

This newsletter highlights:

Let’s dive in ⬇️

For those who don’t know, Ali Siddiq is a comedian from Houston, TX. He’s performed on Comedy Central, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and more big moments in the comedy space. Part of what makes Ali unique isn’t just his comedy though - he’s evolved from strictly comedian into an incredible storyteller.

He first started making this transition in his career in 2010 when he released his debut comedy album called “Talking Loud Saying Something”. The album marked a pivotal moment in his career - one where he transitioned from comedian to masterful storyteller.

Last month, Ali took his storytelling to a new level with an entire campaign called “The Greatest Storyteller in the World”. The campaign encompassed out of home, digital, and AI to promote his “In the Shadows” tour.

1) AI

Ali’s team used AI to spoof the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” commercials. They made their own commercial with Ali as the main character but instead of most interesting man in the world, he became the greatest storyteller in thew world.

“When he tells a story…even silence listens” lol.

It’s an interesting use case of AI to put a creative spin on branding.

2) Out of home

Billboards and branded trucks with “The Greatest Storyteller in the World” tagline were put up in some of Ali’s key markets like New York City, St. Louis, Little Rock, and more. In addition to serving as visibility + branding for foot traffic, it was also a dope asset for social media posting.

3) Show flyers

“The Greatest Storyteller in the World” also extended to show flyers to maintain branding. Individual flyers posted on social media also carried the same tagline.

Overall

Though Ali is a comedian, there’s a lot of takeaways here for artists and creators everywhere. One of my biggest takeaways when looking at the campaign was the creative through line - everything centered around the idea of him being the greatest storyteller in the world.

That slogan translated across out of home, digital, AI, and more.

Most comedians just post their show flyer in hopes of selling tickets without ever really making a campaign.

I actually went to Ali’s show in NYC a few months ago and can indeed confirm, he’s a great storyteller.

Hopefully this was helpful on your journey.

Thanks for reading, until next time.

The Vault

 1) Emergent - my cousin actually introduced me to this one! It’s similiar to Lovable, a platform that can be used for building web applications with AI but Emergent has more integrations. For example, it recently just integrated with Claude Sonnet 4.5 More info HERE
